Asymmetric workout
In the final phase of scoliosis treatment, after passing the growth phase, it is possible to start muscle treatment at the gym with weight training equipment adapted for scoliosis.
Normal weight training performed symmetrically can worsen posture and cause compression and pain for scoliosis.
Certain devices worsen scoliosis and should be avoided during weight training, while others can be used with adaptations. Whenever you workout using both sides of the body symmetrically, with the same position of the arms or legs during the exercises, the side that is already stronger in scoliosis is strengthened more. In these cases, the brain reinforces the scoliotic functioning pattern and continues to disregard the weak side, reinforcing the scoliosis forever.
By working asymmetrically within the concept of AST, strengthening only the weak muscles of the trunk, the brain is informed of anti-scoliosis, which gradually changes the behavior pattern of the brain about the spine.
Asymmetrical strengthening should be continued until both sides of the spinal muscles are equal in strength, and only then can the workout be symmetrical. It is possible to work symmetrically on muscles not affected by scoliosis at the same time, along with asymmetrical strength training.
The muscle regains symmetry and the spine returns to its position as close to normal as possible. Its maximum potential is reached here!
